The Modern Doll Makeup Trend Every Bride Will Be Copying

Is a full face makeup over for special occasions-including weddings? We will leave it up to you to decide, but one thing is certain: we are obsessed with the fresh, glowing Modern Doll look, as seen on the couture runway in Paris. 

Backstage at the Georges Chakra Couture show, celebrity makeup artist Vera Dierckx was creating her magic to achieve what she calls “Modern Dolls” look: a soft, radiant look with luminous skin and beautifully defined lashes.

“The  inspiration came from an image we saw from an amazing book for François Nars in the nineties.

Vera focused on a glowing skin using the  Duo Baume de Chanel. “One side is for glowing skin and one for blush, but you can also use it on your eyes or lips.”

The secret to the doll-like finish?

Vera used a lot of mascara! She started to build volume and length with a base for the lashes- a mascara primer- available from different brands like Guerlain or Dior. To finish the look, she used 2 different mascaras, creating the illusion of naturally full, fluttery lashes.

Her backstage tip: Use a spatula when applying mascara, it’s the easiest way!
